frequently asked questions

The two Questions we get asked about the helicopters the most are:
How high can it go?   &   How fast will it go?

In short, here are the answers:

A remote control helicopter is controlled by a transmitter that has a 5 mile plus visual (or line of sight) range. We will NOT fly above 400 feet above ground level. At about 200 feet the helicopter is real hard to see and if you can’t see it, you can’t control it.

The speed of a remote control helicopter depends on its size and payload. The big gas or electric ones we use with no payload can reach in excess of 90 mph. But again when it is moving away from you at that speed you can’t see it or control it. The way we use or helicopters usually consists of a controlled hover at a predetermined height where we take our photos.

The equipments we use are NOT TOYS!!!! They are very unique and expensive. It cost thousands of dollars and hundreds or hours of test flying to get it running smooth enough to take clear photos. Most of the equipment we use isn’t something you can just go buy at the local hobby shop or off the internet.

Where did you buy the PoleCam?

The PoleCam system we use was designed and built by the owner. Hundreds of hours were spent designing, finding the right parts, and building it to insure safety and reliability.

How high can the PoleCam go up?

It was designed to go from 12 feet above the ground to over 50 feet. Most residential and commercial properties we photograph get real small at anything above 50 feet. Besides, at that height all you can see of the building is the roof, and that is useless unless you need a picture of your roof.

Did I mention we can do roof inspections too?

How do you deliver the photos?

In most cases you will receive the selected photos or video on a CD/DVD in whatever format you want on site. If you want them touched up, like having trees, power lines, automobiles, weeds removed, then it takes some time and will be delivered in person, e-mailed or shipped to you with in a day or so. We can also have the photos printed and framed to your liking for an additional cost.

how much does it cost?

Our pricing is extremely cost effective and is lieralyy a small fraction of what you would pay for similar, and often inferior, services from companies using full sized manned aircraft.
