Why should you choose us for your Web design needs?

With the ever widening range of WYSIWYG HTML coding software such as DreamWeaver, FrontPage, and others on the market these days it seems as if anyone can create a Web site. In fact, most professional Web designers use DreamWeaver or similar products to design sites for a hefty fee. There is no doubt that almost anyone can make a Web site, but beleive it or not these types of programs do a very poor job of writing correct code. In fact, I can almost guarantee you that any site designed in such a manner (even if done professionally at a cost of thousands of dollars) stumbles over its own bulky coding and is inherrantly flawed in regards to ranking high in popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and MSN. In short, while it is true that almost anyone can make a WEb page, and that many can even make a good looking Web page, very few can create a Web page that is not only good looking but that is Optimized by Design and actually increases your search rankings through the design itself.

This is where my approach to Web design differs significantly from the competition. I write all of my own HTML and CSS code by hand. The preferred tools of my trade in designing Web pages are Wordpad and Photoshop. When it comes to writing code, more is definitely NOT better. My pages contain no surplus coding and are both clean and efficient. Additionally, my many years of Web design experience have tought me what works and what doesn't when it comes to making the search engines happy. I use several design methods which I developed personally based on years of experience and I guarantee that a site designed by me will outrank the competitors for search term relevancy with absolutely zero need to use over-priced pay per click and other gimicks which do little more than drain your bank account.

What exactly do I mean when I say Optimized by Design?

An optimized Web site is one which, for various possible reasons, tends to rank well for targeted key words. These targeted key words are the search terms that potential visitors & customers enter into a search engine when looking for information about any particular topic. Optimized sites will generally rank higher as the search engines see them as being more relevant and/or more authoratative on the topic being searched for. Most Web designers, although familiar with common industry optimization techniques, leave this as an after-thought and see it as another step to be done after the site is designed. This is a grave error and ends up costing the site owner lots of extra money to basically pay the designer (or a third party SEO company) to fix problems created by the very design itself! I often wonder if most Web designers are: really that ignorant, simply get tunnel vision and fail to see the forest for the trees, or if they do it intentionally so they can bill for additional services.

No matter whay they do it, the fact remains that the vast majority of sites on the Web are very poorly designed in regards to what the search engines see and, by their very design, are fighting an uphill battle to make it to the top of the search results. What many people fail to recognize is that what a human looking at the screen sees and what a search engine spider sees are completely different. There is no arguing with the fact that a Web site should be pleasing to the human eye and intuitive to navigate, but it is perhaps even more important for the search engine spiders to see things that make them happy and result in better placement. It is here where the design techniques which I use to build a Web site differ greatly from the competition.

I call my method of Web site development Optimized by Design and what this means, in a nutshell, is that the underlying HTML code (what the search engines look at) is not only clean and free of useless outdated tags, but is presented in such a manner that it makes the search engine algorythms place more importance on it and see it as more relevant and important than a site designed by someone else. Indeed, it is entirely possible for 2 Web sites which appear IDENTICAL to the human eye to be seen as vastly different by the search engines. A Web site which is Optimized by Design will need much less additional work (often none at all) to outrank similar Web sites which are paying literally thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars per month on PPC and other artificial means of getting hits!

Some of the most common mistakes we see have to do with the use of tables, layers, and frames to layout a Web site. These are grave mistakes and can wreak havoc on your search engine placement.
